The NUPL renews its call for the immediate repeal of these laws. Their continued enforcement safeguards not security, but legitimizes state repression. As long as these laws exist, rights defenders, activists, journalists, and humanitarian workers will remain at risk—not because they have broken the law, but because they challenge the conditions of injustice that the law now seeks to protect.

When trust in the system breaks down, transparency must take its place. The people have the right to know their votes were counted truthfully. Without credibility, there is no legitimacy.
Until political power is democratized, land and wealth redistributed, national sovereignty asserted, and social justice realized, no policy—however artfully worded—will deliver peace. A whole-of-nation approach cannot dismantle a system that breeds resistance while preserving the very conditions that make such resistance necessary.
There must be no sanctuary for lies and no refuge from accountability.
